New York City - 2018

July in New York City was unbearably hot. I landed just two days before the worst heat wave the city has seen in 20 years. Close to 100 degrees in Times Square and 100%  humidity! Even a 30 minute thunderstorm and torrential rain could not break the heat. But camera in hand and bottled water in a backpack and I was off on as many adventures as possible. Central Park was a dream and I could spend days just exploring every nook and cranny for delicious photos like the one above. It truly is a photographers dream. Staying in Queens I experienced more subway rides than I ever wanted but I finally got a hang of the massive system of numbers and letters. I made my way to the Botanical Gardens which has inspired many new upcoming pieces. Stay tuned. Williamsburg food truck Food Fest called Smorgersburg was a hit with so may different types of food in one place along the river! Shopping in SoHo and lunch in China Town. Wine and Cheese at sunset on the lawn of Central Park. Park Avenue and Quality Italian in Mid-Town for dinners. And don’t underestimate the power of Air Conditioning where I got out of he heat and hit 5 Broadway shows. A part of my heart (my middle daughter) lives in NYC and is thriving there as an accomplished sommelier and restaurateur. Its a fun place to visit but weather brought me to my knees, literally!
